I am about as American as John Wayne is----but Im a spirit filled follower of Yeshua first. At first when listening to Rev. Wright rant about the injustices that the black folks have been subjected to by the white American politicians and ordinary "white"people, I was outraged! After listening to him several times, (not by choice by the way) I began to understand what God was saying through him:
"America, your sin has drawn a schism between you and I; your prayers are even an abomination to me. You kill , in the name of freedom and democracy by way of a perverted constitution. You condone immoral practices in which I have destroyed other lands for doing the same; why don't think if I brought fire down upon the ciites of Sodom and Gohmorrah and cities of the plains, why wouldn't I do the same to you? YOU ARE JUST AS GUILTY!
So, not Bless me Lord; nor God Bless America; nor any of those sweet patriotism songs of how we're number one and has shined down upon us. The Almighty God of Heaven and Earth has indeed shed his grace upon thee BUT YOUR SINS HAVE DRIVEN A WEDGE BETWEEN YOU AND HIM! You spat on Him and through His graciousness and love right back into His face. He weeps and mourns for a nation which will soon die. He will turn the nation over to its enemies and wipe the slate clean and will not start over.
In prophetic text in the Holy Bible the United States of America is nowhere to be found after a certain point ---why? Because it no longer exists.
Our nation's symbol is the "eagle" ; many countries have symbols that are spoken of in prophetic passages such as the Lion (Great Britain)and the Bear (Russia). All nations listed in OT text have correlating symbols in modern times. Do the research yourself and discover for yourself.
In closing, please don't misunderstand this post as condoning or approving of Rev. Wrights in anything he has said: past, present; and future. It's just not there. See sin as God see's sin , then maybe you'll understand.

Along with your so called liberties, freedom has been used as a means to cover your sins, which are many. Therefore repent of your wickedness and return to your first love. (2 Chronicles 7: 14) If my people who are called by my name....will humble themselves....humble themselves and pray...and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways.....then will I hear from heaven and heal their land.
